Hello! I’m Lael Kelley.
My fitness journey began when I started exercising in high school. I ran on the treadmill and did workout circuits I found on Bodybuilding.com while my parents took classes and lifted at the local Powerhouse Gym in our hometown of Salisbury, MD. My parents were significant influences in starting a consistent exercise routine. I didn’t realize it then, but those runs on the treadmill, spin classes, and lifting circuits created a foundation that supported my love for exercise!
Over time, I became increasingly serious about my fitness and the idea of training the mind to become tougher through physical activity. I love total body workouts. Because of this, I found myself frequenting the local Fit Body Boot Camp multiple times a week and eventually twice a day! FB Boot Camp inspired me to check out this somewhat mysterious and slightly scary thing I had been hearing about called “CrossFit.” Since the summer of 2017, I’ve shed blood, sweat, and tears at local CrossFit and functional fitness gyms in the Eastern Shore area.
I graduated from Salisbury University with a degree in Exercise Science, instructed CrossFit classes, and interned at SBYFit (formerly CrossFit Salisbury). I also had the opportunity to hold the title of Head Personal Trainer at CoreLife Healthcare in Millsboro, DE. This experience taught me much about working one-on-one with people from multiple backgrounds and with different health considerations. I worked with young and elderly patients, those with mobility issues, diabetes, weight loss goals, strength goals, men, women, those without exercise experience, those who just want to “get back to their younger self”, and everyone in between.
In September of 2021, I opened LK FITNESS to do personal training my way. I love creating healthier lives as a means to encourage meaningful change!
